The Prospect Hawks was established at the end of the 2009 first competed in the Leven Football Association in 2010, was admitted to the Northern Tasmanian Football Association (NTFA) as part of its Division 2 competition,
From 2011 to 2013 the Prospect Football Club was in a partnership with the South Launceston Football Club (est. 1986) and competed as South-Prospect Hawks
